When NCRST boosted our agent work

Before the company was Tangison Technologies CC, it operated as Gemsweb Digital. In that era it built an agent product: the AI workforce platform that would later be renamed Nangula AI and then Tangison Agent. The National Commission on Research, Science and Technology (NCRST) boosted that product, recognition from the commission that stewards Namibia's research, science, and technology agenda for applied AI built in the country.
This note records the story as it stands. NCRST is not a partner of Tangison Technologies. The boost belongs to the Gemsweb Digital chapter of the company's history, and it is stated as exactly that: a boost given to our agent product, by the national commission, before the name changed.
What the boost meant
For a small Windhoek team building self-hosted agent infrastructure, national recognition at that stage was worth more than funding: it said the premise was sound. Autonomous software that runs on hardware its owner controls, queues its work around interrupted power, and logs every action where an auditor can read it, was work the country's own research agenda considered worth backing.
The boost put the early product in front of institutions and eyes it would not otherwise have reached that early, and it hardened a discipline the company still runs on: build for the conditions, prove it on the hardware institutions actually buy, and write down what fails.
What it seeded
The product the boost supported ended its life as Tangison Agent, discontinued as a product in 2026. What did not end is the line underneath it: the orchestration layer, the audit trails, and the offline-first job queues, researched and hardened further in-house.
The offer it seeded is the one the company stands on today: applied AI and systems engineering for Namibian institutions, delivered by a company whose agent work was boosted by the national commission before it carried the Tangison name.
