Broad AI promises are easy to buy and hard to hold. A tool that extracts, classifies, compiles, or monitors one thing can be tested, measured, and trusted. A platform that promises the whole workflow cannot be either, and the invoice arrives before the doubt does.
We build narrow. One job per tool: read these documents, watch this feed, compile this report, flag this pattern. The job is defined in writing before the build starts, and the output is something a person can verify against the input.
We learned this the expensive way, building a broad agent platform ourselves. The product ended. The lesson did not.
